Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib). NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. The NTP of Jambi Province in August 2024 was 157.40 or an increase of 1.25 percent compared to the NTP of the previous month. The increase in NTP was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) increasing by 0.88 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) decreasing by 0.36 percent. In Jambi Province, the NTP for January-August 2024 increased by 8.94 percent compared to the NTP for January-August 2023. In August 2024, there was a decrease in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Jambi Province by 0.47 percent due to a decrease in the index in three expenditure groups, namely the Food, Beverages and Tobacco Group by 0.85 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity and Other Fuels by 0.03 percent; and Information, Communication and Financial Services by 0.04 percent. The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for Jambi Province in July 2024 was 160.78 or an increase of 0.83 percent compared to the NTUP for the previous month
