Abstract

In June 2021, Jambi City and Muara Bungo City experienced deflation, respectively by 0.20 percent and 0.39 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Jambi City was 106.64 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Muara Bungo City was recorded at 105.88.
Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 2 (two) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, deflation in Muara Bungo City only occurred in 1 (one) group of goods and services expenditure due to a decrease in the index.
The inflation rate for this calendar year up to June 2021 in Jambi City was 0.39 percent and year on year inflation for last month was 2.58 percent. Meanwhile, Muara Bungo City's calendar year inflation rate was minus 0.06 percent and year on year inflation for last month was 1.27 percent.
There were 10 cities experiencing inflation, out of 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, while 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 0.36 percent and the lowest in Pekanbaru City at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Bungo City at 0.39 percent and the lowest was in Palembang City at 0.01 percent.
There were 34 cities experiencing inflation, out of 90 cities that calculate the CPI in Indonesia, and there were 56 cities with deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawang City at 1.36 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Kupang City at 0.89 percent.
