February 2021, Jambi City deflated 0.47 percent and the City Muara Bungo deflation of 0.46 percent.

Abstract

In February 2021, Jambi City and Muara Bungo City experienced deflation of 0.47 percent and 0.46 percent, respectively. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Jambi City was 106.45 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Muara Bungo City was recorded at 105.98.
Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 5 (five) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, deflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 3 (three) categories of goods and services expenditures due to a decline in index.
The inflation rates for calendar year1 and year on year 2 for Jambi City this month were 0.21 percent and 1.70 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for calendar year and “year on year” for Muara Bungo City this month was 0.04 percent and 1.24 percent, respectively.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, 20 cities experienced deflation, while four cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation in Sumatra occurred in Gunung Sitoli City at 1.55 percent and at the same time became the highest deflation nationally. Meanwhile, the lowest deflation in Sumatra occurred in Palembang City at 0.08 percent.
Of the 90 cities that calculated the CPI in Indonesia, 56 cities experienced inflation, and 34 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju City at 1.12 percent.
