Abstract

  • The rice harvested area in 2020 is 84,773 hectares, an increase of 15,237 hectares or 21.91 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 69,536 hectares.
  • Rice production in 2020 amounted to 386,413 tons of dry unhulled rice (GKG), an increase of 76,481 tons or 24.68 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 309,933 tons of GKG.
  • When viewed from the subround, there was an increase in rice production in the subround May-August and September-December 2020, namely 21,272 tons of GKG (17.08 percent) and 61,603 tons of GKG (130.64 percent) respectively compared to 2019. The decline only occurred in the January-April subround, which amounted to 6,394 tons of GKG (-4.63 percent).
  • If converted into rice for the population's food consumption, rice production in 2020 will amount to 222,379 tons, an increase of 44,014 tons or 24.68 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 178,364 tons.
  • The potential for rice production in the January-April 2021 subround is estimated at 121,291 tons of GKG, a decrease of 10,530 tons or -7.99 percent compared to the same subround in 2020 which amounted to 131,821 tons of GKG.
